With a landscape so much more varied and diverse than the snow covered wasteland I definitely expected it to be (why are all my expectations of Eastern European countries just barren, snowy badlands?!), Poland managed to carve itself a special place in my heart.
From the beaches of Sopot in the north, where you can just swim at the height of summer (we did, for approximately 12 seconds) to the historic centres of Warsaw and Krakow, to the charming mountain town of Zakopane, there are infinite reasons to love Poland. If nothing else, go for the food: I’ve never fallen so head over heels in love for a cuisine, and that’s really saying something.
And, in fact, we didn’t see a single speck of snow.
